How Grohe’s Recent Bathing Study Can Help The Trade

| George Ball | Trader
When it comes to superb quality bathroom brands, Grohe has captured the market. One of the leading brands in this industry, Grohe has been manufacturing pioneering products for the bathroom for over 80 years!

Grohe recently commissioned a study into the nation's showering habits following the recent energy price increases. Focusing on nine countries, including the UK, Europe, and the United States, Grohe’s findings highlight not just bathing habits but also reveal surprising statistics about the UK’s lack of energy-saving bathroom fittings.

Here, The Bathroom Showroom considers some of the findings from the study while considering what it could mean for the bathroom trade going forward.

A Surprising Number of People Refused to Change Their Showering Habits To Accommodate The Increasing Energy Prices

A most valuable lesson from Grohe’s survey highlighted the reluctance many of us have when changing our showering habits.

In both the UK and the US, over 40% of customers questioned claimed they hadn’t changed their showering habits to align with the energy cost hikes. And, going forward, the same people claimed they also had no plans in the future to change either!

Many customers refuse to compromise on their showering time, and understandably so. Yet that doesn't mean these same customers are ignoring water usage. In fact, sustainable water usage remains a concern for many customers, but changing showering routines to account for this is not something many of us want to budge on!

For the bathroom trade, this highlights how much emphasis many customers place on their daily showering experience. Ultimately, this shows us how good quality showers are the way forward with more of us looking to elevate our showering experience every time we step into that cubicle or bath.

And, with more of us acutely aware of the need to work towards reducing water consumption, traders are perfectly placed to recommend those energy-efficient showers that can help customers get the best of both worlds here.

The UK Falls Short When It Comes To Purchasing More Sustainable Bathroom Fittings

Perhaps most surprising about the Grohe survey is its findings on those countries whose bathrooms have little to no sustainable fittings.

The UK falls behind significantly here with only eight per cent of customers claiming to have installed sustainable bathroom fittings. Worst still, is that only four per cent questioned in the study claimed to have plans to make any changes here going forward.

With Egypt showcasing record highs of 35% water and energy-saving bathroom products and 25% in the United States, these figures show there’s still much work to be done in the UK market going forward.

Though these figures are disturbing, they do suggest a huge gap in the market that those working in the bathroom trade can capitalise on.

By offering expert help, guidance, and quality information on the many advantages of suitable bathroom fittings, bathroom professionals are in a great position to recommend smarter showering solutions that actively help cut the amount of water consumed per shower.

Bathroom Traders Are Perfectly Placed To Help Customers Improve Their Showering Set-Up

Undertaken in 2022 and covering nine countries, the Grohe bathing study is a useful guide when analysing the water usage, showering habits, and indeed attitudes of consumers towards resource-saving bathroom fittings for the home.

What's more, its findings highlight the need for good-quality professional bathroom advice, helping those in the bathroom trade offer their expertise when it comes to leading the way to a more suitable bathroom environment for all customers.
